We’re beyond excited to have you return for another incredible year at Bear Jaw Groove — Flagstaff’s premier mountain bike event celebrating community, adventure, and the joy of riding together! Whether you’re back to chase a personal best, racing with friends, or bringing along the whole family, this year’s race promises something for everyone.
The Course
Get ready to tackle the 10.5-mile loop course that starts on a fire road for roughly a mile to let the pack thin out before hitting the legendary Arizona Trail (AZT) with its tight, smooth single-track flowing into Rocky Moto. These trails offer a gradual, sustained climb with fun challenges like roots and rocks before you connect to Moto! From the top, you’ll swoop into an exhilarating 3.5-mile descent — mostly smooth and fast with one or two rock gardens — before looping back through single-track to the Start/Finish. Ride it solo, with a duo, or with a team of 4.

The 90’s Classic Around the Peaks — Reborn
It started in the 90’s. Dusty singletrack. Big lungs. Bigger personalities. A race that circled the Peaks and became the stuff of local legend. Now… the Cosmic Solstice is back. Bear Jaw Events is reviving this classic Around the Peaks experience and bringing it into a new era — reimagined as a timed benefit race that blends grit, nostalgia, and community under Flagstaff’s wide-open cosmic skies.
Racing for a Reason
This year, the Cosmic Solstice is a timed benefit event supporting the Flagstaff Biking Organization, the stewards who help build, maintain, and advocate for the trails we all depend on. Every stride helps sustain the dirt beneath our feet and tires.
Whether you remember the original 90’s edition or you’re experiencing the Cosmic Solstice for the first time, this is your invitation to be part of the comeback.
